Weiss-Aug Innovation through Renovation

March 15, 2010

New modernized renovation is taking place at our 2nd Floor office building. Construction started late February and will be finished approximately by mid-March. We are expanding our research and development group, called our New Program Development Team, headed by experts in precision metal stamping, stamping tooling, insert and injection molding, and mold tooling.  The goal of the renovation was to provide a new area to this expanded group. The most exciting new feature of the renovation is our Innovation Area which is a functional work area for our new program development to team to work with our customers on developing metal stamped and insert molded projects. Equipped with audio/visual capabilities, smart adjustable working space and separate conference area, the new rooms are designed for customer comfort and innovating new ideas.

Weiss-Aug Exemplifies Why Congressional Plant Tours Are So Important

Excerpt from Washington Wire e-newsletter

There are many ways to reach out to Congress. Some are more effective than others.
By far, the most effective way to educate a member of Congress about the issues that

of East Hanover, NJ, did just that by hosting Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen
(R-NJ-11) for a tour of its facility. Rep. Frelinghuysen toured the toolrooms, stamping division and molding division, and was very impressed with the cleanliness of the plant and the level of sophistication and automation of many of the processes.

‘Made in New Jersey” day spotlights state’s goods-producing sectors
By Beth Fitzgerald

When manufacturing executives are asked to explain why they stay in New Jersey, often the high quality of their work force is the top reason. That is the story at Weiss-Aug of East Hanover, a maker of precision-engineered components for electronic, medical equipment, aerospace and automotive.

Walter N. Virack, vice president of sales and marketing, said a grant from the state of New Jersey to train the firm’s 160 employees is helping the company. Weiss-Aug has expanded, adding 60 workers in the past two-and-a-half years, Virack said. “What keeps us in New Jersey is our skilled labor force,” he said. “We make very complicated, very high-tolerance components. We have a very good labor force in a very niche market — to pull up stakes to move to anymore would be detrimental to the company.”
